Get the most out of your video reviews!

 

General Filming Guidelines

  • Use a cell phone that can film in 4K at 60 fps.

  • Film in landscape, not portrait.

  • Keep your entire body in the frame.

  • Do not submit slow-motion videos.

  • More footage is better than less, don't cut too short.

Flat Ground

  • Position the camera at hip height.

  • Skate directly at the camera or at a 90° angle.

  • Avoid filming from a 45° angle.

Mini Ramps / Small Transitions

  • Film from the flat bottom or in line with the coping.

  • Ensure the run-up and exit are clearly visible.

  • Don't cut out the transition on approach.

  • Don't film straight out from the deck.

Bowls

  • Have someone film you from the deck, if possible.

  • If filming solo, position the camera directly at the corner.

  • Include both the flat bottom and the transition for entrance and exit.

Ledges and Rails

  • Position the camera at hip height.

  • Skate directly at the camera or at a 90° angle.

  • Avoid filming from a 45° angle.

Vert

  • Film from the flat bottom, capturing the entire vert ramp if possible.

  • Have someone else film you, if possible.
